I just bought a certified pre owned 2020 XC90 and when the dealership did a software update it apparently triggered the parking brake to lock. The service manager I spoke with is claiming they have never seen anything like this and are trying to figure out how to fix it. Has anyone heard of this or had this happen?

I took my 2018 XC90 in on 1/26/22 for my active bending lights, quick fix with a software update. Next day my car went completely dead in the middle of driving it, couldn't push the brake in to restart it. After about 20 min it started and I drove it home. Next morning couldn't push brake in or start it. Tried several times, had roadside tow it to Volvo. My dealership has 20 vehicles sitting in service with issues from this software update, they are apparently getting the highest level of support but nothing so far. Car has been there almost 2 weeks now. Worst part is they sold all their loaners because they had no cars to sell so I've been without a car now for 2 weeks. Service manager was frustrated because volvo is telling them they are safe to drive and to send them back while they work on an update but multiple people had their cars completely shut off while driving, obviously not safe.
