For a while now our 04 T5 has been ticking quietly to itself, 24/7. After driving, engine off, ticks very fast for a few mins then settles down to a slower beat. Coming from behind the front passenger headlight (I pulled the headlight so know it is not in there).

Any ideas what this might be?

I am not a mechanic, but with over 20 years of driving and owning cars from Acura, Toyota, Honda, and Mercedes, I believe this is quite common for older cars and there is nothing to be worried about.

Same here with 30 years of driving and have never seen this before.

Having said that, about two weeks ago it just stopped and hasn't returned.....
