Just replaced the two rear bearings about 2 months later I have major tire wear to the point that I can see the outer belts on the tires. Could replacing the bearing cause my aligment to change, or could it be something else??
Thanks'

New tires appear wearing evenly so far.

RE: Tire Wear
The wheel bearing being replace CANNOT, i repeat CANNOT cause tire wear on the rear. the only things remove for bearing replacement is the wheel, the caliper, the rotor the 4 17mm bolts the 14mm axle bolt, and then the bearing, inst in reverse order
If someone replace the front bearings and choose to take the strat loose from the spindle then it would need to be realigned..
however, volvo xc90's have a known tire wear issue especially for the rears. Is there any chance you have pirelli scorpions? If so those are complete junk. buy michelins.
and i repeat again, replacing rear wheel bearings CANNOT cause a wheel alignment issue..
(unless the techincian is a complete dumbass and bent somthing) But if done by procedure in VIDA it will not affect alignment.

RE: Tire Wear
I support VOLVOTECHKY 100%!!! A loose outer tie rod or ball joint (most XC90) will have can affect tire wear! Wheel bearing wheel not unless in which I've seen the wheel bearing was loose to a point in which wheel is almost falling off but by then the calipers should be grinded up and loose braking too... Also latest alignment specs was release last November... should check alignment if it have never been align or vehicle have aligned before november

All I know that after Rt rear bearing change (together w/ axel) the accelerated rt rear tire wear started...

RE: Tire Wear
From my research the Volvo XC90 SUV are very hard on the tire wear. Owners are replacing their tires at 15-20k (mils). They claim due to the way the XC 90 SUV is build results in a fast wearing on the tires treads. I currently have Michelins Piolts but they are making a funny noise and treads have worn.
Here's a poll on the suggested tire replacment.

I plan on getting the Nokian WR G2 SUV (all Season), they are hard to find and run about $230-$240 p/tire[] (may need to order online)
If i'm going to replace my tires every 15-20mil on my XC90, I figure it would run about the same $$ wise to invest inthe Nokian Tireswhich (is about 45,000 miles) If interested in the Nokian, check out Josh Spangler @ tiresbyweb@gmail.comor 800 576-1009 ext 775 (May offer a little discount- Tell him Liz from the volvo forum refrered you)
