Just bout my first Volvo this week and am looking at another. Specifically a 2004 Volvo XC90 T6 AWD. Has 140,000 miles. I researched it and the transmissions seem to be the number 1 BIG known issue and shops are charging between 5,000 - 10,000 and still not fixing the issue. Is this one of those where you either get a good one or bad one? Are all these complaints overblown because it's such a costly repair? I have wathed a few vids of guys working them but it does not look like fun at all and would make the car worthless based on the cost/time of the repair compared to the purchase price.
