volvo xc90 trailer weight

what model do you have? ie AWD, V8 etc? Generally the towing capacity of a vehicle is based on its gross combined vehicle weight rating minus the vehicles curb weight. Nobody in their proper legal mind would sell a kit to upgrade the capacity since that is really based on the vehicle's design. You can do some upgrades to make it handle the maximum rated weight for your model - ie bigger radiator, bigger transmission cooler, stiffer rear springs but that's not going to change the rating. Its just going to make the car handle the drive time a bit better. If you do all this and something bad happens, you'd still be liable and be at fault since you exceeded the manufacturer's guidance. That's not to say your car can't two something bigger than its rating without breaking something - its just not within normal safety standards.
