I have decided to purchase an end of year 2013 XC90. However, the current debate is whether to get a R-design platinum or standard premier plus as those are the vehicles available at about a $4500 difference. Safety is a major concern, so I have decided that BLIS is clearly worth the $700 premium. I clearly will almost never use the navigation with its current interface, and the platinum's stereo is only a minor upgrade to my ears. The question comes with the rear view camera. I'm not sure how valuable it is. I like driving both vehicles well enough. The R would be more fun in town, the standard would be better for long trips. In short which would you purchase? If you got the standard, is it possible to add a camera that isn't too ugly?
