what connecting rods fit a 2006 xc90 2.5T
Hello i have a 2006 xc90 2.5T....long story short i, i got this really cheap from a friend that can not fix it ..... the car threw a rod and i would like to know what connecting rods i can use form any other volvos or the fitment any info will be apreciated
well the thing is.... I live down here in TJ in Mexico and well volvos down here are rare to find....and a new block runs about 500 bucks..... and a full one about 1000.....i paid 1400 for the xc90 so i really dont want to pay more...... there are a few s60 and a few s70 in a yunk yard here so i just want to if i could use the rods. or what can a splice in there. there must be something..
Ah I see.
Well there is an engine break, with two different rods based on engine serial number. That is for US models anyway. Your best bet would be to call the dealer and have the VIN handy. They can give you a part number and you can cross reference that.

That does not guarantee the rods are all the same though. The parts catalog I have access to from home indicates two different rods, based on engine number. That is also a US catalog and I don't know if the engine numbers span multiple years or not.
What other parts are you going to need ?
What caused this connecting rod failure ?
Is the cost going to exceed the price of a used engine ?
Have you done this type of work before ?
These are not smarta$$ questions , I am just wanting you to consider what you are getting into instead of getting a used engine .
