What to look for in 05ish XC90
I've had a few Volvo's in my days. From the late 90's v70 to a couple s70's.
I've always loved my Volvo's, all my friends know I'm a big fan.
My question is, in the 2005-ish range what are some things I should look out for in the used market? I'm looking for something as just a little side SUV when we don't need or want to drive the Denali. Looking to save gas, so I'm trying to stay away from the V8, I'd love something turbo, I'm a lover of boost, stock or modded.
Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Make sure it has a maintenance record either on paper or from the dealer. Most aged XC90's have over 200000km on them. The timing belt and water pump are supposed to be changed at 160000 on the T5. Check under the oil cap for a milky substance. That's coolant from a bad head gasket. Walk away.
I have a 05 T5 with 392000km. Its on it's 3rd belt and pump. Runs great.
Don't buy a T6! Think transmission repair and PVC sludge problems. (I had an 04 T6. It sucked! Fuel too! 4 speed GM transmission is made of glass.)
Good luck.
Note: The V8 is made by Yamaha. it's very well made and pared with a good transmission. That will be my next used XC90.

Avoid anything that shows evidence that a previous owner couldn't afford to run it properly so was nursing it along on the cheap - orange oil filters, Korean or Chinese budget brand tyres, no dealer or reputable specialist service history should have you making your excuses and moving on.
