when i step on brake to put the car in drive i feel a slight movement in the shifter whats that and is it a potential problem thanks in advance

 

dont worry about it its a normal. its a saftey feature designed to avoid people from putting the car into gear and having it roll away mostly aim towards kids. but basically the noise your hearing is a spring releasing on the shifter lock allowing the shifter to be moved.
