Default Xc90 2005 electrical burning smell. Stereo?

New user, first post. I've searched but couldn't find anything like this.

My wife and daughter has been complaining for months about an electrical smoke smell, like burning wires, upon entering the car... Usually in the morning. I can't smell it at all.
I've asked my wife:
Is it exhaust?
-No! I know what exhaust smells like!
Is it burning oil smell?
-No, notice that smell... That's burning oil, and it's not that. It's electrical fire smell!
... So I am skeptical. I thougt maybe heater core was leaking, cabin filter moldy, trying to think of every possible thing...
She says it's coming from somewhere below center console area or under dash or something. She's scared the car is gonna burst in flames, lol. I seriously don't smell anything lol!

One thing we noticed though is the CD player, which is broken and won't play CDs but makes cd changer noise every start up is always making a sound like ...a motor turning? It's very faint. The sound is on 100% of the time apparently, no matter how long the car is off and parked. I can go out to the car in the middle of the night and I know it will bemaking that little tiny electrical sound. Also, the stereo does get hot sometimes in longer trips. I don't find that unusual though... Anybody experience this?

Thanks!
