Xc90 2005 V8 ECU/ECM

Xc90 2005 V8 Electronic Module
Hi,
I saw many articles of bad CEM problems for XC90, but the problem did not happen to mine until last week. Initially, audio system acted strangely by switching down chs and volume frequently. This morning, following items are dead;
1. Turn signal
2. High beam
3. Window fluid pump
4. Cruse control
5. Audio control on steering wheel
Everything attached to the steering wheel stop working.
Car drives smoothly and now audio system works fine.
Is this something that I can expect from the CEM failure? Or, something else? I saw that there is an on-going investigation about the bad CEM for 04-05 XC90.
One more question: If I buy a used one and install it by myself, do I need a kind of software update or resetting?
