XC90 Radio comes on then stops playing

XC90 Radio comes on then stops playing
Hello,
The radio will play for 2 to 3 min or sometimes come on intermittently then go out just as fast. The screen on the radio shows everything is working. The radio shows the scrolling information and station, the cd's keep playing but no sound.
I have the Volvo integrated Bluetooth phone system that when someone calls me still works fine sound is clear as can be.
I will be looking for fuses today but it doesn't make sense if a fuse is gone the system is usually out altogether.
Any help wold be greatly appreciated!!!
