I own a 2003 xc90 and have been very happy with it, for the most part. I have however had a recurring problem with the rear hatchback/tailgate - sometimes it won't open. It's unlocked, but the handle won't open it. When this happens, the only way to open the rear hatchback is to climb inside the back of the car and open it manually from the inside. I thought early on there was a recall due to this problem, and I'd had it repaired, but now it has started happening again. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and have any solutions? Hello, I am having the same issue. My tailagate will not open with remote OR by using outside handle. I must crawl in the back, push the red button and lift on small handle to open...HELP !!!
