Default XC90 speaker vibration

I'm noticing a vibration from the speakers mounted in the front triangle of my front windows of my XC90 V8 (2006). I notice this with low frequencies such asdeep malevoices on the radio -seemslike the clipsholdingthe speaker coversin place are too loose. The dealer said they are unable to reproduce (while driving around the block). I'm not too impressed with the factory tweeters. Is anyone else having the same problem and if so do you have any recommended solutions?

Default RE: XC90 speaker vibration

Hello there and I was having a similar problem with a vibration sound coming from, what I thought was, the tweeter in the door near the side view mirror. Turned out in my case on my 03 XC90 that the window control panel was loose and was vibrating. I pointed in out to the service department by having the tech sit in the drivers seat with me in the passenger seat and I was able to replicate the vibrating sound. They took the control out of the door and placed a foam trim around the window control and placed it back in and I have not heard the vibration since and yes it was annoying.

As for speakers, I remember someone talking about DLS Speakers in their XC90. I talked with Peter Flodquist of DLS and he recommended the IR-6.2 for the front and RS-6 in the rear or R6-A in the front and 426 in the rear. The 426 is also very good as a center channel. Only down side is this company is based out of Sweden and there are no official distributors of the speakers here in the states but you can find a good audio dealer that can get them for you. When I get the opportunity, DLS is what I am going to put in my wife's S60 and my XC90. Hope this helped out some.

I replaced both front and rear tweeters in our XC90. It was done by a pro shop, front were Boston Acousticstweeters ($150 installed), and rear DLS tweeters/midrange drivers. Both front and rear were screwed to the metal.

Thanks for your feedback. I think you "pinpointed" the problem, so to say. First of all , theoriginal tweeters are not very good and they are mounted usingplastic clips that snap in (or out of) place.
