XC90 V8 - Intermittent Transmission Issue
Hello All,
I am a long time Volvo owner - Short time V8 owner. I recently acquired a 2007 V8 XC90. I have read about all of the valve body issues these can have, and I suspect that I am running into the same with mine.
Most of the time, the car drives absolutely beautifully, it shifts quickly and smoothly - However, if I really get on it, it begins to shift VIOLENTLY both up and down, and it will continue to do this no matter the speed or throttle input, until I pull over, and shut the engine off for about 30 seconds, then it gets back to it's normal smooth powerful self - until I get on it again.
Is this sounding like a potential TF-80SC valve body issue to you guys, or something more serious? The car has 179k miles on it, so I guess anything is really possible. I am going to start by changing the fluid, and see if that makes any sort of difference, but I am worried that it won't.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
