Default 1999 S80 Turbo 6

Anything at all in the way of a body kit out there? I've seen nothing to make it look less like an oldies coupe, and I would truely love it look a bit more sporty.

Welcome to the forum.

To be honest not really.

1. Window tint. Tint your windows.

2. 17-19 inch rims. Please no Chrome unless that is your thing.

3. HEICO front spoiler flaps. http://www.heicosportiv.de/

They can also be purchased from, http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/Mercha...Code=VL-S80-ex

4. Lower your car. Check the VolvoForums Resources thread in the General Volvo section. It is a PINNED thread.

5. Paint your OEM grille. Use Plastidip.

6. HID upgrade

All the items listed above will make your car look more up to date and sportier IMO. But the S80 is a luxury sedan and it will hardly ever look truly sporty.

Is there any way to de-badge the grill or is there an aftermarket black mesh grill? I would like to just take it out but the way it's set up it wouldn't be too attractive.
Also, as for the springs, would they screw up the STC or anything else?
I'd also like to know if you knew what the maximum diameter and width for tires could be?
You seem to be very knowledgable and I appreciate your help.

1. I don't know of any aftermarket grilles for the s80 models. You may try to put one of the OEM eggcrate grilles in and or paint your OEM grille. Painting the OEM grille looks really nice. You just paint the slats and leave the slash and the chrome surround Chrome. It looks real nice. You could also paint the slats and surround black and leave the slash Chrome and it would look good as well. As far as debadging the grille no. If you take the slash off there will be an indentation where the slash was.

2. I can't honestly say the lowering springs will mess it up or not. However I know people with s80's have lowered their cars. Also they make the lowering springs for these cars so I doubt they would make them and then they screw something up.

3. The max diameter I would go with would be a 20" rim. And if you plan on lowering your s80 I wouldn't go higher then 18" just to be safe. Also the widest tire I would go with would be 8 inch. Other wise your getting into fender rolling and spacers.

I appreciate all your help! The eggcrate grill doesn't quite fit, I guess that was one of Volvo's "improvements." I'm going to get Eibach lowering springs and some 18x7.5 F 18x8.0 R rims, I think it sounds pretty safe for clearance and all that. I'm going to paint the grill matte black and the decal background, leave the slash/surround silver. Windows are already tinted ;-).
I know this is the exterior subforum, but do you have any suggestions for me replacing the wood trim arouns everything? I want to do brushed aluminum, and it looked like Heico has it but I guess they aren't selling. Thank you lots for your help!

What do you mean they are not selling? If you can't find prices on their website it is because you have to e-mail and ask them. They do sell stuff.

Trim like the aluminum around the shift ****. It's in a few pictures but not listed as a product and as far as I know the only trim in the Volvo s80 was the black burlwood. They've got the aluminum locks and stainless steel door inserts, along with the pedals, but it wouldn't really go too good unless the burlwood could be changed to aluminum or stainless.
