When looking at, and buying older Volvo's that has the clear coat gone in some area's, what is the best way to fix the paint. I do not know a thing about clear coat or paint. Hard fix, easy fix?

 

Take a clean cloth with you, moisten and rub in an area that is exposed to sun and see if any of the color comes off.

On mine, the clear is completely gone on the top, hood, and trunk lid.

The fix is to keep a good coat of wax on there. That's about all you can do.
