i have a 1995 940 (RWD)and just installed an 850 oem spoiler on my car (i like the look better). i know spoilers change air flow and balance? a cars weight, but does added drag slow the car down and kill mpg? thanks

It depends on it's purpose, that's why on race cars they are adjustable. But most of the time they are for looks. Sometimes they are worse than without it. FWIW, Countach's were more aerodynamic without the huge wing.

The Honda Civic Aluminum ones (I call them bleachers), they actually do something. I read about one guy who had one and used it at the track (but took it off at the track so he wouldn't get made fun of) had 4 indentations on his hood from the downforce.

having a red 95 850 T5 I fight the daily question to spoil or not?
Not a fan of the factory original although most love them.So for
the money $30.00 shipped from Taiwan on eBay I bought one of
the smaller lip type and was pleasantly surprised.I think I do like
it butthat may change.

On daily drivers and street cars, it's mostly for cosmetic purposes. But in motorsports it is used to add downforce to the car basically to keep it on the ground.
