Default Restoring a classic

Am in the process of restoring my recently acquired Volvo 1800 ES. Not much of a bargain and not much of a treasure trove either. But, hey, not all that is gold does glitter. Right? Anyway, my car know-how was decent. Until I was caught in the complexity of restoring an old car. Folk at Swedish Parts Dealer, a Volvo parts dealer that I approached, were trying to help and offer me an ostensibly impressive array of parts choices. Just thought I'd go look for independent opinions. You know what I mean, these folk are businessmen. They may have good business practice, but it wouldn't hurt to double check on them parts and advice. Any?
