Question Restoring a windshield?

Any ideas on how to restore an S70 windshield? I bought an '00 GLT SE for my teenage son and when driving in sunlight, the windshield is hard to see out of due to "pitting". It's almost as if a ton of tiny pebbles hit the windshield on the highway. Is there a polish one can use to renew the glass or do I need to replace the entire windshield?

I realize this is a general question, but some of you have been very generous in helping answer other questions I've had while looking to buy and buying the S70, so I thought I'd ask this one too!

Just replace it; there's no magic cure for pitted glass. This is a safety issue so please don't delay...
