The stock airbox is by far the best setup. B: Purchase the EST (EuroSportTuning) intake kit. EXHAUST A. Have a local muffler shop fab you a 2.5" mandrel bent catback system with a free flowing muffler such as BORLA or Magnaflow. B: Purchase a catback system from places such as, EuroSportTuning (EST), Viva Performance, IPD USA or Evolve. C: Have a local muffler shop fab you a 3" mandrel bent downpipe. D: Purchase a performance downpipe from, EuroSportTuning (EST), Viva Performance, IPD USA or Evolve. *In the exhaust catagory you will see the most gain from the downpipe. *Also since your not upgrading to a bigger turbo there is no need to go with a full 3" system although it wouldn't truly hurt anything, but a 2.5" mandrel bent catback system will do you just fine. However you will want a 3" mandrel bent downpipe. Methadome_S60r 10-19-2007, 05:35 PM How much should i spend on a down pipe? S70driver 10-19-2007, 05:50 PM ORIGINAL: Methadome_S60r How much should i spend on a down pipe? It all depends. By all means check out the local muffler shop and see if they can mandrel bent you a 3" downpipe. If they can do it for under $600 I would go that route. However if they cannot mandrel bend then your stuck going with an aftermarket company as I listed above, where you will spend more. Personally I would not spend over $500 for a downpipe. Yeah CJ on Volvospeed might do really good work but his downpipes are not worth the close to $1k they cost. Same with the aftermarket companies. The reason prices are the way they are is because the Volvo aftermarket world isn't terribly big. Yeah we have tons of forums and thousands of people, but it is nowhere near what Honda, Toyota, Etc... are at. And that is the reason our prices for parts are so high. Small niche market. Methadome_S60r 10-20-2007, 05:33 PM I've read on some of the other forums about the all wheel drive thing. Ican chirp hard in first and second. But i have an 07 with about 1k miles. What do you think. S70driver 10-21-2007, 12:29 AM ORIGINAL: Methadome_S60r I've read on some of the other forums about the all wheel drive thing. Ican chirp hard in first and second. Don't make another subject about it, I will and others can answer it in this one. I think you can chirp your tires in any car. Try it, see if you can. I don't know if you can or can't. Methadome_S60r 10-22-2007, 09:39 AM sorry, posted in wrong room. S60 R 12-07-2007, 03:07 PM I know it's been awhile, but I have an Evolvedp and exhaust, and a home made CAI. http://www.evolvecars.com/site/index.php?id=101,336,0,0,1,0 http://www.evolvecars.com/site/index.php?id=101,423,0,0,1,0 http://www.s60r.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2884 Hope that helps someone... The "R" Kelly intake system? At least that is what the pictures look like in the thread. What a rip off. Also for that price you could have a local exhaust shop that can mandrel bend make you two downpipes or for that matter a downpipe and a catback system. Just like IPD's price it is a rip off for that downpipe. Same thing goes for that catback system. It is a rip off. You can have a local exhaust shop that can mandrel bend make you one for hundreds less. It might sound like I am dissing your items you bought for your car. I am not. I am just suggesting that for that kind of money that the person look into custom stuff mainly because it will be a lot cheaper. S60 R 12-08-2007, 07:19 AM You could diss it all you want for all I care. I love the Evolve system and would get it again. It comes with a warranty, and I've never had an issue exchanging parts. Will every local muffler shop stand-by what they built and installed? I never used one so I don't know, just something to think about. The question was asked, I just suggested what worked for me. As for the CAI, its basically the RKelly system. I used a larger hose for (hopefully) better flow. Again, I haven't noticed any drawbacks and it's worked for me. S70driver 12-08-2007, 09:36 AM I never said the system was bad. I never said I disliked the system you bought. What I did say was that the price is outrageuous and that for that kind of money the OP could have a complete turboback system made. Of course you would want a local muffler shop that can mandrel bend do it. Also if you want to go even cheaper. Buy some mandrel bent pipes and have a local muffler shop cut them and weld them together for you. You would also need a FLEX JOINT and some O2 bungs and a CAT. Oh and your old OEM flange or a new flange. Also from what I have seen the R-Kelly system is just a hole cut into the bottom of the airbox and a hose run to it and to the front bumper area. Nothing speical and certainly not worth the $120 they ask for it. When you can go to LOWES or HOME DEPOT and make it yourself for more then likely $10. S60 R 12-08-2007, 03:34 PM Again, the question was asked, I'm just suggesting what worked for me. My apologies for that... S70driver 12-08-2007, 03:58 PM And that is perfectly fine. Again, I was stating that it is a ridiculous price to pay for something that can be made for much less and be the same or better quality. S60 R 12-09-2007, 07:03 AM ORIGINAL: S70driver And that is perfectly fine. Apparently it is not. As a moderator, please delete my posts since they are causing a problem. mcguij1 12-10-2007, 09:06 AM just to add, I know K&N makes a cold air typhoon set up intake for the 2005+ s40's, they might have something for the s60 as well...
