I've been having problems starting my 1995 volvo 850. This happens rarely and always after I have driven the car for a while.
When I try to start the car the engine will not even turn over and the hazzards begin to flash, after about 5 minutes they shut off.
Then everytime I open the door or turn the key they begin to flash again. This has only happened a couple of times before and
I'd let the car cool down for a while and then it would start. But now I can't even get it to start. Originally I thought it may be the
battery but this doesn't seem to be the case. Then I thought maybe the fuses or something overheating.
Can anybody help? Thanks.

 

Check all ground wires -- at battery and other ground mounting points. Clean/sand all corrosion.

 

thanks.... Im going check the battery for failure also while cleaning the connections.

 

could be defective alarm module or defective ignition switch-electrical part.
Try to disable the alrm-pull the fuse or the relay, if not helping could be bad ground or ignition

 

When it happens try locking and unlocking the car and see if it starts.
Could be a bad Alarm relay.

 

Thanks for the helps guys... I checked relays and was on my way to checking the other suggestions.... and did a load test on my battery. Found out my battery was dead. Threw in a new battery and Im up and running. WHew.... I must have lucked out on this one. I appreciate your time to reply, you guys are a wealth of knowledge! thanks
