Exclamation NEED HELP WITH S-60 !!!!!!! bypass compressor

I would like to know if there is a way to bypass the ac compressor on my s-60. its going out and i cant afford a new one. dobbs tried to charge me 1200 for a 220$ part. i dont have the tools to do it either. i have to wait till i get some money before i can replace it and i just want to know if im able to bypass the compressor so i can still drive my car. i appreciate all info. im in a pickle with this one.

my '03 S60 has an AC on off button on the dash....

they should be able to disengage the clutch in it so that the outer part spins freely - this would allow the belt to go without burning up.

Why dont you take it somewhere else if you think you are getting ripped off?

how can i disengage the clutch ? if there is a way i can do it myself. i just want to be able to drive my car. i dont want to get it fixed. i know there are ways of doing things. i just dont know how.

couldnt tell you myself.

Download VADIS - this will have part diagrams and you will be able to figure it out.
