Help-1992 Volvo 240 Wagon (NonTurbo)
Help, my Volvo was having issues starting after a night of rain/snow. After scouring the internet I read that its a good idea to replace the distributor rotor and cap, along with spark plug wires, and fuel pump relay. Long story short I pulled the wires and cap off without taking a picture and replaced everything (following the firing order I saw online) and now the car wont turn over It sounds like it will but makes some unpleasant sounds and shakes the whole car. I am thinking the cap is on incorrectly but really don't want to mess anything up and really want to avoid having it towed to my mechanic. Any help would be huge. Thanks guys!

the cap can only go on one way or it won't seat correctly.
are you SURE you got the firing order correct? the cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 from the front to the rear of the engine. looking down at the distributor, the #1 cylinder is connected to the terminal closed to the front of the car, then going CLOCKWISE, next is #3 (to your left, the cars right), then #4 is the rearmost terminal, and #2 is the terminal on your right, the cars left.
I found this diagram online...
