Gearbox noise / problem
I've got a manual M56 gearbox in mu 850 T5 wagon. There seems to be some problem with first gear.
Whenever I drive up to an intersection, and I try to put it in first gear while still driving, sometimes the gearbox makes a loud crunching noise while I push it in first gear. As if the clutch was not fully disengaged.
This noise lasts only for about half a second, and it does go in gear, but it does not seem quite good for my gearbox. I feel the stick giving resistance in accordance with the noise, the noise then quickly drops in frequency, and then it pops in.
This only seems to happen when I still have some speed (say 20~30km/u) and never when I'm at a complete standstill. The clutch is however always fully slammed to the bottom, and the 'problem' only happens with the first gear.
Is this normal, or do I have some kind of defect in my gearbox?
