Default Driver rear brake not working

Working on my daughters 07 S 40 DR brake pads not touching rotor, was going to change caliper thought it was stuck, turns out that it appears that its not receiving brake fluid, i traced the line back to the hydraulic unit, I blew compressed air from front to the back and what fluid in the line came out. It appears the hydraulic unit is not working on that line to the driver rear brake caliper.
I'm guessing there is an issue with the one port coming out of the hydraulic unit since the other 3 brakes on the car seem normal. I am now considering replaceing the hydraulic pump and the BCM with a used one from a wrecked s40.
Looking for some insight on this issue.
Thank you.
Jim

Could be one of two things - stuck caliper or faulty valve in the ABS unit. Mine (00 S40) was the latter - no ABS codes either. I wound up finding a used unit for $65 and replaced - good to go.

Default Car won't start now

I got used replacement abs hydraulic pump installed, now car doesn't start, but driver rear caliper is working though. instrument messages are as follows, Anti-skid temporarily off, engine system service urgent, immobilizer check mannual. OBD II codes were as followed before battery was removed P0091, U0400, U0001. When key is installed and turned on the pumphttp://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...goire/pump.jpg in front of battery box runs for a few minutes after key is removed ,first of all is that normal? It did i before I was tring to fix the caliper. All calipers were bleed no air was visable , battery was declared as being good. any help will be appreciated. I have a 30 day warranty on the used abs pump I got so the clock is ticking. I am thinking I will put the old one back in and see if it starts again. Thank you.

did you try disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes then reconnecting to see if it resets? You should also be able to disconnect the ABS module and the car should start/drive. I'd try isolating the module before pulling the pump out...

Your immobilizer is active. Don't you push the remote door lock/unlock something like 5 times in a row to recover things to normal?

Yes that is what I have read. door lock/unlock 5 times in a row to recover things to normal but it didn't work, so tomorrow when it stops raining going to swap the old one back and see if it starts like it did before I changed it and then I will go from square one again if it starts and the messages are different then I think it is safe to say that the used abs pump I got is defective and I will return it. Thanks for the input it's much appreciated.

Not sure if your model's ABS is set up similar to older models like my Gen1 and 850s but there are two separate components - the ABS module (which has the electronics) and the pump itself (with the fluid valves). On mine, the controller can be removed/replaced without opening opening the system. I have the old one I replaced and may snap a pic tomorrow... (oh yeah, tomorrow is rear spring day for the s40...)

First let me say Thank you for all your input and help.
brakes are up and operating, I was able to reuse the abs electronic module and I purchased a used abs pump complete with module and hydraulics I was able to use the hydraulic side of it and used the original brain for abs, especially since it is seialized to the car from my understanding so between the the two parts I was able to get all brake calipers to operate properly but I am still getting a urgent sevice engine red ! But no apparent brake issue now.
there is a good video on you tube that covers it.

Thanks again

I have one more question, Is it normal for the brake pump to run on for a few minutes after you turn the engine off it just seems odd?

And it's so true. It took me many years to learn these rules. Many wasted dollars and time.
