Default Considering this 04 S60R - any input?

Hi guys...i'm looking for some expert advice or support. At a local volvo dealer there is a 04 S60R with 69K miles priced at $16,999(it recently dropped from $18,999). I've driven this car twice this week and it seems pretty smooth. It has high miles but a great price....very clean inside some minorscratchs on the exterior. Itis a 1 owner, 3 year lease (20K miles a year). What specfics should I look at or for? All other R cars the same year seem priced so much higher. According the the carfax this dealer has had it since the last week in August. Is there a reason it'sbeen thereso long? I like the car but am hesitant for some reason. What should i or would you do? Any help is very much appricated. Thanks............

I would have your local mech that your trust look it over. They may find things.

This car is expensive to repair, big dollars in parts.
A manual trans can be a problem, the first owner may not have treated it well.
Sometimes a car just doesn't sell so the dealer lowers the price.
But like S70driver said, get it checked out.

As previously mentioned, If the car has been abused you might be looking at some big repair bills down the road.

Average book value for that car and mileage is $18,000 ,Trade in book is around $15,600 they probaly have $15K in it. Offer $15,500 and hold your ground for 3 days to see if they bite.

Since the topic has already been made, I have a couple of questions to ask as well. Back in July of this year, I went out and brought an 2004 Audi A6 2.7 T S-Line. On the dealership’s lot, they had an R 6 speed, but it was a lil more then what I wanted to spend (I think it was like 24K and I got the Audi for 20K). The reason why I wanted the Audi because it has the S4 engine, so I thought that it would be fast. I mean its kinda fast, but it’s not R fast.

So my question is, I’m thinking about trading in the A6, for the R. How fast are the auto’s compared to the 6 speed’s? I would love to have a 6 speed, but I want one with the body kit on it and I can only find one in an auto.

H.N.I.C., 04 and 05 Auto R's were torque limited to 258 lb. ft. and 300 hp (questionable). 06 and up Auto R's are not torque limited at all, and are much better in all areas, including performance. They are 6 speed autos with instant traction, and you get the full 295 lb. ft. of torque. I own an 06 S60R GT, and some members on Swedespeed.com are recording faster track times than MT R's. I suggest you check out Swedespeed.com. I have mine heavily modded.
