Default S60 electrical issues

Hello,

I'm having some trouble with my 2012 s60 (90k miles). I came out from work the other day and the car was dead, I jump started it and drove it to a autoparts store and had them test the battery they said the battery, alternator and starter were all ok. The next day when I went to start the car completely dead again and I haven't received a low battery light once since this started, does anyone have any ideas of what the problem could be? I'm thinking the alternator but wanted some more opinions before I took it to the dealer.

Check your voltage regulator. I had the same issue with my 2002 S60T, its attached to the alternator and the brushes get to wearing uneven and you get what is happening to you now.

You should check for a parasitic draw on the battery when everything in the car is off. I suspect that if you google the term the procedure will come up.Best method is with a multimeter that can handle up to a 10 amp draw.

Parasitic draw killed the original battery in my 2013 S60. The draw was coming from the Satellite Radio.

The dealer did apply the software update and replaced the battery. All under warranty.

Had the same issue on a 2013. Dealer did the software upgrade and replaced the battery under warranty. Said it was a draw on the Nav system, but I don't have Nav.
