What size do you recommend? Also, any particular brand for spoke rims? Thanks.

For 20" rims I do not know what tire size to run. Discount Tire Direct doesn't even have tire options for the 20" rims they have available for the Volvo s80.
Now if you want 17"-18" rims and tires I can be more of a help to you.
17" options
1.
Redline 17X7 5-115/108 35SM

18" options

RE: 2001 S80 Largest Wheel/All Season Tire Size
Hello. My apologies if my questions created confusion. Although the car can take up to a 20 inch rim, is there a particular size that you recommend? 17 inch? 18 inch? 19 inch? 20 inch? This is without regard to the looks of the size of the particular wheels available. The second question was, given the particular size of rim you recommend (if any), is there any particular brand that you recommend (or brands that should be avoided)? Thanks again.

18" is the biggest I would go for myself.
I like BBS rims a lot, they can get very exspensive though. O.Z. makes so really nice rims as well and if your feeling really wealthy buy some EVOLVE rims.

The rims above are primo at around $399-$499 per rim.
The rim option linked below is the primo primo example of EVOLVE rims. At close to $1,000 per rim.

RE: 2001 S80 Largest Wheel/All Season Tire Size
Hey there good advice on the wheels and some great pics. I am selling my new S80 rims and possibly with tires. They are on my new S80.
if you are intersted give me an email back.
In addition I have just bought the VOXX Misano's in 17 and like them a great deal. I read all of the negative reviews here (or was it jsut two I cant recall) but then I read bunch of positive ones on other sites from Porsche and Jag owners so Im not too worried about the few negatives. However now that I have them on the car I sort of wish I went 18's instead of 17". Of course I have the stock MXM4's on which are 225/50/17 so aqm considering possibly going to a 245/45/17 but not sure how much if any more aggressive look I would got - any thoughts are welcome!
Either way, my wheels are brand new and sitting in the Vox boxes ready to ship. Id take $ 600 for the set of 4 or $ 700 and I toss in the new tires mounted and balanced. Thanks and good hunting for your car!
(let me know if you want the new VOLVO's with caps and possibly tires).
