Default 1998 V70XC NIVOMAT rear shocks

I need to change out my rear Nivomat rear shocks. My part # is 8626026 for my car. I was at the junk yard today and go a pair of Nivomat shocks off a 2000 V70XC and the pt# is 8626027. Can is still
use them? I found out the 8626027 are for V70R and V70 AWD. Any one know if they will still work on my 98XC?

Thanks
jpirish

My guess would be no but I'd think you may want to compare side by side - its possible the differences are in the valving (ie firmness) or the length of the strut piston. With your car being an XC, you have more suspension travel than with the V70 AWD - so my guess is the XCs shock may be longer than the sedan/wagons.

Thanks for the reply. I paid 10.00 for each. The funny thing was. They are from a V70XC but wrong year. But I will save them. I won't put them on

I could use them. Do you still have?
