Default IN a 1998, where does the side impact bag live? In the seat or somewhere else?

Hi,

I am thinking of replacing the seats in my 1998 V70 but I'm uncertain if I would lose the side bag if I took the seats out.

Many cars install the bag and inflator in the side bolster. Is that the case with the V70?

Thanks.

are you replacing to freshen worn leather or to get a newer more modern cut? If you want to simply freshen the leather, check out Elwood Industries Home

I am converting the car to electric, and I'm considering putting in different seats to save weight. If I'm going to lose safety though, I'd recover the existing seats.

Is the airbag in the seat bolster or in the door jamb?

sounds like a cool project. I wasn't sure about the 98s but on my 95 850 they were in the seat
