I have a 98 v70 turbo with automatic. My question is when she is cold she will smoke more than normal and I smell a electrical/metal like smell when she is running. She runs and drives fine and smokes goes away after she is warm. Could the turbo be going out or is it something I haven't thought of yet. This is my first turbo car, this is all new to me. Thanks for your input.

 

I'd suspect some oil or coolant is dripping on the turbo or downpipe and it take a bit of heat to burn off. Did you look around after an overnight? you may want to remove the heat shield to get a look at the drain pipe gasket too
