99 v70xc awd turbo sat for 6 years trying to get it started
Hi I have some guys helping me get this car running and I have a couple of questions. Really I'm trying to confirm proper procedure
- Battery. I had a H5 650 battery that was no good. They put in a 750 size h6 battery out of a SUV . Is that ok or will that screw up car? I say it needs proper size battery.
Fluids - I was told to drain any gas and drop tank cuz gas could be a shellac residue and will mess up pump filter. The guys looked on you tube guy said just fill tank up put some fuel treatment and shake up the car that the new fuel will fix old. Needless to say I was out numbered. Fuel Pump replacementd and we are not hearing fuel pump. The car want to start dies for a quick second but then they rev up the engine full throttle and it dies.
Last question
Fuel Pump Removal- is there a right up? So they were trying to fin access panel in back. Is there one? Our jeep didn't have one we had to drop the tank also should the battery be disconnected and fuel syphoned?
Please correct me any advice would be greatly appreciated. Not trying to pull an I told you" just don't want to make matter wors. Thank you

Question 1: A battery is a battery. It needs 12V electricity. It might take 300 or 400 amps to crank. It's a lot. Voltage will drop down to 10 while cranking. Don't be shocked.
Question 2: If you already put gas in and cranked it let's put this one behind us. I'm not following this very well; you seem to say here that you have already replaced the pump and then below you say you didn't find an access panel. If you dropped the tank then it seems like this is an odd question. You can see here where words matter. I am reading " replacementd" as "replaced" because I have to pick something to believe there.
question 3: I don't know. The write-ups are usually for two wheel drive cars, where the pump access (and fuel gauge access) is crazy simple. You can't miss it. I was thinking one year AWD gas tanks were really less serviceable, but I was thinking that was the 98.

2.) No new fuel pump. new fuel only with some gas treatment. When we try to start the the we primed it first. I could hear clicking under the hood but no sound from fuel pump. .There is a panel in cargo area but seems to only be access for wire connections. I really was hoping to find a write up or service technician manual. .Something with images. Sorry for confusion. First time posting . I appreciate your time
