Default Cheap seat covers

Well you see, I bought these cheap seat covers. Although I consider my Volvo S70 a fancier car than I am used to ( I used to drive a 96 Mercury Villager) I am not at all prone to purchase expensive accessories so I bought some cheap seat covers for my Volvo.

There is only one problem. How do I remove the head rests on a 1998 Volvo S70 to install these cheap seat covers? I am very interested in protecting the cloth seats.

Thank you in advance.

PS. As a side question, every time I start my car the lights on the buttons for the AC and the button to switch from circulated outside air and circulated inside air blink for about 30 seconds. What does this indicate?

Thank you again. BTW this forum is something to be very thankful for. And I am very thankful.

Hi John, welcome to VolvoForums.

I despise cheap seat covers so I will not tell you how to get the headrest off. The cloth seats I had in a Volvo several years ago showed very little signs of wear in 400,000 miles so you may not need the covers. Please take them back to Walmart.

The flashing ac control lights is telling you that there is a fault in the system. It may still work ok, but something is wrong.

BTW, I also do not like cheap rubber floor mats that cover nice carpeted mats.

Thank you RSPI, will take covers back and get that other problem checked out.
BTW you were right about Walmart.

Thanks again.

There are 2 spring metal tabs 2 to 3 inches below the top of the seal that secure the rods that run up to the head rests. You can feel these through the seat covering. Sometimes this takes 3 hands to do, from the back seat depress the metal tabs and pull the read restraint upward at the same time.
