Talking engine swap 98' V70

I have a 98' Volvo V70 AWD cylinder #1 went out, no compression at all. I'm looking to see what I can swap the motor out with, right now I have a 2.4 turbo. I want to go bigger but i'm not sure what would fit and give it a little more Hp. Maybe one of the straight 5's? or one of the 6's with turbo? I'm willing to make it RWD if that means i can fit a bigger motor in.

You have a "straight 5" already, the 6 cylinder won't fit, and RWD only is not possible .

Not trying to burst your bubble but - Usually when a customer came in with a 22 year old Volvo with no compression (needing a valve job and such) - they would either sell the car to the junkyard for $100 or just abandon the car on my lot not paying the tow bill and diagnostic time. They understood it's not a reasonable /rational choice to spend more on repairs on a common 22 year old car than the car is worth.

Hmm I see. I'll just get the same one then. I appreciate the output on junking the car, but I've put a lot of money and effort into it. I can easily get another motor form the junk yard for 200. So it's not fully impossible to fix my 22 year old car. I just wanted to reach my feelers out and see if a bigger motor would be possible in my car. First Volvo I've worked on, so its nice to see what I can do with it.
I appreciate the help!
