ETS Light
Surprised search of the forum did not turn up anything on the ETS (electronic throttle system) light.
Mine is going on and off intermittently and sometimes I'll get a surge or a cut back in the throttle while driving.
Is this a component and easy to switch out? Something I can clean?
Any knowledge shared, much appreciated.

The 99-2000 svxc70 (and many other volvos/other brands) used the Magnetti Maerelli (sp) throttle module. They are known to fail with less than 100k miles. Several aftermarket companies have made modifications to the existing module during "rebuilding" to eliminate the parts that wear. If you came to me and your module needed to be replaced - I would order a replacement from xemodex pre programmed to your VIN and install it the next day. Plug and play, problem solved.
It has been mentioned that a used unit MIGHT work in a different car, if the moon is in the right phase and such, but I have no experience in trying used throttle modules. Or you can purchase the replacement parts and rebuild your yourself.
