Flashing Arrow on Dashboard
Hello all, I am new to the Volvo world. I have done lots of research on this issue, and while I know there are lots of PNP and automatic tranny related threads out there, they don't seem to help me with my issue. The car is a 2000 V70XC 2.4t. My mother bought this car a couple months ago, and it ran and drove fine up until about a month ago. It would intermittently refuse to crank over, leading me to a faulty PNP switch. I got around to replacing the switch yesterday, however, the new switch had all 9 electrical prongs on the connector while the one in the car only had 8 (see attached picture for reference). I'm not sure if this matters, nor am I sure which cars take the switch with all 9 pins. Anyway, when I got the car back together, I went to take it for a test drive and the up arrow started flashing on the dash, which of course means the transmission is stuck in limp mode. I thought the new switch did more harm than good, so I put the old PNP switch back in. Low and behold, the arrow is still flashing even with the old PNP re-installed, even though it never had this issue prior to removal. What could be the issue?
