Ignition Coil / Fuel Pump Fuse blows - ideas? 2000 V70XC
Howdy all - Looking for input on a problem:
After about 10-20 miles of driving my ABS/TCS warning lights will go on and the engine starts running VERY rough. After maybe 30 seconds, the engine will stall when the Ignition coil/fuel pump fuse blows. #12 in this diagram:

The mechanic I took it to (not a Volvo guy, admittedly) feels the fuel pump is overheating and shorting out. Thing is, there were no signs of a failing fuel pump before, and he said the fuel flow and pressure were good in his tests. About a week prior I had replaced the spark plugs do to a misfire on cylinder #3, and the car broke down on the first longer drive I had done since.
What else should I be checking for? Any reason to hope it's just a bad ignition coil?
