Default Instrument Panel Lights not workinking

People,

This is my first post so if I leave anything out please tell me.

The car is a 1998 V70 station wagon, just purchased. When checking it out, prior to purchase, I neglected to check if the display panel lights work, they do not. I have examined the fuse (#35) and swapped it just to be sure. No joy. I have wiggled the light intensity wheel - no joy. I would be happy to bypass the light intensity adjustment if that would help.

Can anyone suggest what the next step might be?

Thanks,

Dave

Default Panel Lights Rotary Intensity Switch - 1998 V70

People,

Can this switch be removed from the front of the housing - I want to see if I bypass it whether the panel lights will work.

Thanks,

Dave

Have you checked the ignition switch?

It could also be the head light switch.

Default Instrument Panel Lights not working

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

There are no apparent problems with the headlight switch - the parking lights and main beams work fine. And no apparent problems with the ignition switch, the car starts without a problem.

Where do you suggest I begin ?

Dave

The head light switch. The dimmer could also be bad.

Default Dimmer Switch Access

People

How do I get to the back of the dimmer switch to test it. I assume there is a feed wire from the headlight switch and 1 or more wires to feed the instrument panel lights.

Can the switch be pulled out from the front or do I have to take the dash apart? If I have to take the dash apart, is there a video?

Dave
