Default Remove clear panel in front of instrument panel...

I am new to this forum and in fact I just bought my first Volvo 2 days ago. It looks like there are a few water spots on the inside of the plastic in front of the instrument panel.

I searched the forum but came across a thread saying that I need to disconnect the battery and call the dealer for a radio code?

That doesn't sound right (meaning, I probably misunderstood it).

Anyway, I just want to know how to remove it so that I can clean it off.

Thanks in advance!

NOt sure what all years, but Volvo radios have an antitheft feature, when the battery is disconnected, the radio loses power like it is being stolen. When power returns, it wants an access code before anything works again on the radio. I'm not sure if they still do it but all my cars had that feature. Usually if you call the dealer with your vin number they will look it up while you're on the phone. Some dealers get a little um, harder to work with?, and they want paid for the service. The one here in York always gave me mine for free.

Ahhh, ok, that makes sense. I can understand why someone might want to steal a Volvo, but the stock radio? Ha ha...

Thanks for the heads up
