Just bought, Seems to be running too rich?
So new to this forum, and volvo in general (but been a saab owner for years and always done my own work).
But anyways bought a 98 v70 glt awd last week with 170k miles on it (got it for $1200 and seems like a got a good deal). Paints a little rough and the interior is pretty beat up, but seems like a fun project for me.
So far mechanically the only thing I've noticed is the car seems to be running rich, but there is no check engine light (a service one does appear, but assuming I can turn that off).
The car idles at a stop around 1500, and sounds like the injectors are working pretty hard for how mild I've been driving it so far. Have barely driven the car so far, but the biggest thing I've noticed was the amount of black fresh oil/fuel on the tip of the exhaust.
Guessing I'm in need of new 02 sensors, but was going to see if there is any other common issues that could be the cause of this.
Also have heard a lot about replacing my PCV system on these cars? Seems like a good amount of work to do for no reason, but will do it if there can be serious problems there.
Lastly and a little off point, the car feels rather weak to me power wise and was wondering if it's just the turbo not being as strong as I'm use to, or if I am being robbed on my boost level. What is the standard psi for the glt model (was assuming around 7-8psi)?
Will be testing my psi on wed, but as far as my butt dyno goes I am not getting near that.
Is the IPD turbo control valve (or any suggestions for one better, ARD?) a safe and effective way to get my boost back?
Thanks, and sorry for the multiple questions in one.

It is very important on these cars. Once that PCV trap starts to clog, it builds pressure that can cause cam seals, rear main seals, and others to bleed and rupture.
Thanks for your input, and after talking to my part guy he completely agrees. Told me to check first just to make sure it hasn't already been done recently. But know this was a very common fix for my newer saabs so figured it would be similar for these cars as well.
Idling at 1500rpm is definately way too high especially when hot.
Should be around 850-900max.
The front o2 sensor is probably the culprit.
Make sure your air filter is clean too.
