Hi everyone. The car has developed a knocking noise which goes away on acceleration and gets louder/quieter by turning the steering wheel in idle.The sound is at its clearest when sitting in the car and not very noticable from outside the car.
The engine has been abit rough this last week and this noise has happened in the last few days.Its there in neutral, park and in gear with foot on break.Its a V70 1997 2.4 20v Petrol Auto.
There is a vibration in the accelerator pedal when getting up to speed and through the steering wheel too.
I have included a video, the noise is louder than it is on the recording and you may have to turn your speakers right up to hear it.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I would guess you have a worn out CV joint that also has a ripped boot.

 

I had noticed a knocking whilst turning right a while ago and CV grease on the back of the wheel so it seems you could well be right there! Thank you for getting back to me :-)
