Default Manual Boost Controller

Hello everyone, I have a simple question about my car. I have a Volvo V70R from 1998 automatic the US version. I have installed a boost gauge for the start so i can see how well the turbo is running and its really nice and steady. I am getting about 10 PSI from it right now but that is at 4000RPM. This Volvo does not have the 2.3L engine in it anymore it had to be replaced and now i have a 2.4L GLT engine with only about 80k miles on it so its like new i love it!! Now I read lots of forums that i should take out the TCV and just add a manual boost controller to be able to adjust it a little bit and i would love to do that. I have worked on this car before i know what i am doing but i want to know if anyone has done this. Does your ECU give errors because you removed the electronic boost controller ? And I heard that you can just take the 2 hoses that go from the turbo to the TCV and just connect it to the MBC is that true and if it is witch ones?
One more thing: What boost do you guys recommend i should be running at 14, 15psi is safe for the engine form what i know but i want to know what everyone else is running without reinforcing the engine.
Thank you!
