My '99 V70 XC (that lasted 3 days)
I'm completely new to Volvo's and this forum and just wanted to share my experience so far with my recently purchased v70 XC turbo.

After just 3 days, I managed to blow the head gasket (no coolant, milky oil, white smoke, etc) which I will learn is because of subpar machine work and a tech that allowed a head to be installed that should have been replaced.
So, I pulled it into my garage and got it apart pretty quickly (except for one stubborn as hell exhaust/turbo manifold bolt

Then I began to degrease, wash, and resurface the valve cover, head, and block

Note the uneven and completely ground deck on this head which also caused some good valve marks on the pistons (all of them)

Also started on the block by removing the alignment dowels and making some space for resurfacing
Now just waiting on my parts and the used head I found and bought today on the web.
Thanks
