"New" 2001 V70 T5
Well, it had to happen... I needed a great road trip car, and couldn't pass up a great deal on a 2001 (Gen 1) V70 T5. It's actually in great condition - probably a 8.5/10 outside and solid 9/10 inside. And that's with 208,000 miles.
It's got a pronounced flare from 2nd to 3rd gear, so I ordered the B4 servo cover, and plan to do a fluid change. Oddly, I had the same symptom with the 2003 VW Jetta 1.8l turbo wagon I just sold - turned out to be a $20 sensor... that had to be installed after dropping the tranny.
One of the only problems with the interior is that the woodgrain trim around the automatic shift lever has a tiny gap in the thin part below the shifter, and the thicker surround trim is peeled up on one side. I haven't been able to find anyone who sells this, other than vendors on Ebay that sell only a complete trim kit (ooooh, yellow trim...). Bleah. Anyone out there got a line on a good supplier?
