Default oil consumption

I've heard from my mechanic that it is normal. Well not excessively...

New Member is a place to introduce yourself and your car but your cars area is where to ask for help. You are also much more likely to get help when posting questions in your cars specific area. Post moved to correct area.

Oil consumption will vary depending on the use. If your car is using less than 1 quart of oil in 2,000 miles (3200 km), you are doing real good. If the car is not smoking, that is even better.

Are you using the correct weight oil? Owners manual suggest the weight.

A car will use more oil when cold. So, if you are taking short trips, more oil will be consumed or leaked past seals, etc. Doesn't sound like enough usage to worry about, just keep it between min and max.

Thank you for the reply, one other thing that I am confuse about, some morning when I crank up the car there is some smoke coming out from the exhaust pipe and I can tell it is from oil, it seems like the valve seal are leaking a bit but not every morning, usually when the valve seal are leaking it should smoke every morning but not my car it is only some morning and that is really confusing

All cars should smoke condensation when started in the morning.

You never said what weight oil you are using?

The PCV system will get clogged when the car is used for short distances, with or without synthetic oil and no matter the oil change interval.

Your PCV might be already clogged. It's one of the causes of oil consumption.
