problems with door sensors(?)
2000 V70 XC AWD "CROSS COUNTRY", but relatable to all V70's in this year range.
We have a problem with the sensors not knowing the doors are closed: you know...the lights will stay on and drain the battery. On all my old cars, of course it's a switch or button that tells the car the door is closed.
So, I took out most of the lights from the door itself, and we "test" it by shutting the doors until the overhead light goes off.
Anyone else have this problem? I'm not even sure where the sensor is, or how it works but I was guessing it's a magnet??? There is a little thing on there that looks like it has no purpose other than being a door sensor. I'll post a pic of it later. Maybe they just get dirty.
