Default Replacing oem Mitsubishi turbo with New Borg Warner 3k turbo?

I'm looking to replace a failing turbo on my 99 V70 AWD. Just wondering if anybody has any knowledge about using a New Borg Warner instead of the stock Mitsubishi. I can get a much better price and I think volvo has gone to this company now. Are there any issues with doing this? The company selling it says it fits my car. Thanks for your input

I don't think manufacturer is the concern. On these cars my key consideration is about proper fitment as the flanges which can vary by model and trim. Before you assume their fitment advise is correct, best to do some research on the OEM part number (ie by VIN and engine code info not by model/year). You do have some other options - you can rebuild the turbo if the problem is leaky seals, you can buy professionally rebuilt units and you can go with a recycled OEM unit. I tend to use rebuilt parts since I don't expect to keep my 95 and 00 another 15 years...

I live on the north Oregon coast. Do you know where I can get a rebuilt OEM turbo? Not much on the internet that I can find .

do you mean a rebuild service or who sells remanufactured turbos? Not sure what you are looking for but I can see a lot of options on the internet - Start with Ebay Motors and you can find turbo repair kits for $40 (new seals etc), replacement turbos (no mention of manufacturer 300-500), rebuilt turbos (not cheap - 500-1000), used turbos (OEM with 100-150K going for $100-150). One thing that concerns me about the replacements is whether they come with the wastegate too. If it were me, I'd probably go and rebuild the turbo via the kit as Migbro noted or buy a used OEM (search CAR-PART.COM if you want to find a good yard price). If you throw in the used OEM then you'd have the time to rebuild your original and sell it to recover all your costs...
