Seat belt locked
We were trying to switch out drivers side seat belt, as it smells of bad perfume. When my kid removed the unit from car, belt retracted all the way, and is now locked in that position. Any ideas how to release?

Could be that it locks based on inertia, and in that case gravity works on the locking mechanism. If it's held in a position as if it was installed on the car, it may release. I don't actually know, I admit it.
