Default Self diagnosis does not work with key in position III (ABS, SERVICE and UP ARROW)

Hi,

I have just bought a Volvo V70 1999 2.4T automatic and I am really happy with it. Itīs a great car and itīs running very smoothly, but there is just one thing that annoys me and I canīt find a solution for it.

The following self diagnostic lights does not turn on when I turn the key to position III: ABS, SERVICE and UP ARROW (automatic transmission). The automatic transmission UP ARROW neither turns on when using other gears or W function.

I havenīt checked the bulbs yet because I think it would be a big coincidence if those 3 bulbs where broken at the same time and I havenīt checked the codes, as I donīt have a diagnostic computer yet.

I think that you would point the problem to the ABS module at first, and yes I had a problem with this (speedometer did not work), but I fixed it by opening it up and doing some soldering. I donīt think that the ABS module controls the SERVICE and UP ARROW and shouldnīt I get the light if it didnīt work?

I would like to hear your opinions on the subject because itīs driving me crazy .

Just check the bulbs. A previous owner could have removed them to get rid of the light.
